ITOPF is the leading, not-for-profit marine ship pollution response advisers providing impartial advice worldwide on effective response to spills of oil & chemicals at sea. The International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation (ITOPF) has responded to over 700 incidents involving oil or chemical spills worldwide. An oil tanker, also known as a petroleum tanker, is a ship designed for the bulk transport of oil or its products. There are two basic types of oil tankers: crude tankers and product tankers. Crude tankers move large quantities of unrefined crude oil from its point of extraction to refineries. From 1 January 2020, the limit for sulphur in fuel oil used on board ships operating outside designated emission control areas reduced to 0.50% m/m from 3.50% m/m. DHT is based in Hamilton, Bermuda and was founded in 2005. It owns and operates crude oil tankers, and has a fleet of 18 crude tankers including 14 VLCC. A meeting was held in between the two leading oil tanker associations namely Oil Tanker Cartridge Association and All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association and PSO. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the new regulations introduced by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to upgrade tankers.
