I've advanced to the point of making oil fields and I'm a bit lost as I can't seem to easily find them. I found three when randomly clearing a forest but unlike coal, copper, stone, and iron; oil doesn't seem to show up on the minimap.

Anyway, calculations say to get 100% efficiency out of Generator 1 requires a fuel value of 2MJ. in fact because of how each generator scales, they'll all want 2MJ fuel. As a result of what sea block does, there is no fluid in the game that will provide enough power to fully fuel an oil burning generator.

It really helps to have a system that allows for an input of ore, and you can just feed the new deposits into that same trail of ore as you go. That way if the old stuff runs out, the new stuff starts getting to fill in. Trains are a good way to get ore from far away, and they just feel great when you get them set up as well.
